Buddhist Era to Gregorian Year Converter
Convert between the Buddhist Era year used in Cambodia and the Gregorian calendar year.
Buddhist Era year = Gregorian year + 543
Why the offset is 543, and where it gets fuzzy
Cambodia's Buddhist Era counts years from the Buddha's passing, traditionally placed in 544 BCE — so a Gregorian year converts by simply adding 543. That part is fixed and reliable.
What this simple converter doesn't handle: Cambodia's Buddhist Era year traditionally changes at Khmer New Year (mid-April), not January 1st. So for a date between January and mid-April, the “correct” B.E. year in traditional usage can be one less than what this tool shows for the calendar year as a whole. If you need the exact year for a specific date in that window, treat this as a starting point rather than the final answer.
